In April 2011, inspired by Greek nutritional habits, Minerva Benecol Lefko was created, a unique cheese product, made of 100% Greek goat’s milk that helps reduce cholesterol. The Minerva Benecol products, thanks to the plant stanols they contain, reduce the high levels of LDL (“bad”) cholesterol up to 10% in 2-3 weeks. Benecol products were first released in Finland in 1995 from Raisio and since then have reached the entire world. Over 70 clinical studies have proven the effectiveness of plant stanols in reducing cholesterol.
